Michael Douglas Wins First 2019 Golden Globe

Michael Douglas picked up the first honor of the night at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday when he claimed the Best Actor, TV Musical or Comedy gong for The Kominsky Method.
The veteran, who paid tribute to his “extraordinary, wonderful wife” Catherine Zeta Jones and dedicated his prize to his 102-year-old father Kirk Douglas in his acceptance speech, beat out Atlanta’s Donald Glover, Bill Hader, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Jim Carrey.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse was also an early winner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, picking up the Best Animated Feature prize, while The Americans was named Best TV Drama Series, and former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden was a surprise winner in the Best Actor in a TV Drama category for his role in hit British series Bodyguard.
