Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs And Justin Bieber Join Calls To Free A$AP Rocky

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Justin Bieber, and Michael B. Jordan are among the stars who are calling for rapper A$Ap Rocky’s release from a Swedish prison amid human rights concerns.

The Wild for the Night star, real name Rakim Mayers, is being held in police custody with members of his entourage after they were arrested on suspicion of assault in Stockholm on 2 July (19).

Prosecutors were recently granted their request to hold Rocky for up to two weeks while they investigate the street fight he was reportedly involved in, but his manager, John Ehmann, has launched a campaign online seeking his client’s immediate release, claiming the 30 year old and his associates have been subjected to “horrific” and “inhumane conditions” at the Stockholm Detention Center, where they are said to have been kept in solitary confinement.

Ehmann had initially aimed to gather 150,000 signatures for the petition, titled “#JusticeforRocky Demand that Rocky be released by Swedish Officials”, but that goal was smashed just hours after its launch on Tuesday (09Jul19), and he has since extended the target to 500,000.

Rocky’s music peers have rushed to add their names to the appeal, with rap mogul Diddy urging fans to spread the word online: “Stand in support and request Rocky’s release from Swedish officials!” he wrote. “Sign the petition and join the movement at – EVERYONE REPOST THIS NOW!!!!!!”

“we’re with you bro @asaprocky go sign this petition!!” Bieber posted, while Meek Mill, who has been working on criminal justice reform initiatives in the U.S. ever since facing his own legal troubles in the past couple of years, called on his followers to join the cause too.

“Support each other This could be you tomar (tomorrow),” he shared on Instagram.

Pop singer Shawn Mendes tweeted, “Stand with @asvpxrocky. Support human rights,” and rapper Post Malone wrote, “Always strive and prosper. Love you very much #justiceforrocky”.

Meanwhile, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan wrote, “I’m here with my brotha (sic) @asaprocky we stand with you… sign the petition to bring my guy home”, and Jada Pinkett Smith added, “Stand in support and request @asvpxrocky’s release from Swedish officials! Sign the petition and join the movement… #JusticeForRocky”.

The campaign had already reached more than 414,000 signatures as WENN went to press.
