Jamie Otis Celebrates Having ‘Viable Pregnancy’ at Five Weeks Along After Previous Miscarriages

Things are going well in Jamie Otis‘ pregnancy!

The Married at First Sight star is celebrating having a “viable pregnancy” with her and husband Doug Hehner‘s baby on the way, sharing in an Instagram post on Friday morning that her “fertility appointment went so well” the previous day.

“The doc saw a growing amniotic sac and yolk sac! My hcg levels are now 11,453.1 & progesterone is off the charts reading >60 (!!!) which essentially just means everything is going smoothly!👏🏻,” wrote Otis, 33, alongside a photo of her hugging the dad-to-be — who’s visibly emotional as he holds up a strip of ultrasound images.

“We still don’t have a due date other than May, but the doctor said next week he should be able to tell us what our exact due date is.🙌🏼 …and we should be able to hear a heartbeat by then too!🤞🏼👶🏼🌈,” Otis added.

We went to the fertility specialist and found out WE ARE PREGNANT!!!🤰🏼 I cannot even believe it!😭👏🏻🥰…after 18 long, painful months, two losses and negative after negative on the pregnancy tests we are *finally* pregnant again!💗 Of course I am being cautiously optimistic, but I have a feeling this little one is going to stick..🙏🏻🤰🏼🙏🏻 ….the only thing is, yesterday the nurse called and said my blood work came back a bit different than anticipated. • Based on my last period, I should be about 4 weeks along. The blood work to support this would look like this: progesterone 8-10 & HCG 50-300 • My blood work came back like this: progesterone 51 & HCG 1,441 !!! • This means that I’m either further along OR I could potentially have TWINS!😱👯(They said it’s most likely I’m further along but I would absolutely love twins!)💞 • Thank you, thank you, *THANK YOU!* for all the encouragement, love, & prayers. IT WORKED! WE ARE FINALLY PREGNANT !!!!! 🤰🏼💗✨ • And before I end this looong caption, I just want to say this: if you’re reading this & are currently in the process of #ttc – oh mama, my heart hurts for you.😞 I know the instant internal pain that comes from another’s pregnancy announcement – even if you are or at least want to be – happy for the lucky couple. I just want you to know that your rainbow will come too. The storm cant stay forever. Hold onto hope! I am thinking of you!👶🏼🌈 • ….@doughehner & I recorded a bonus podcast ep on @hotmarriagecoolparents so we could share the WHOLE story on how we found out the best news of our lives with you! I put the link in my bio for ya!🤰🏼👶🏼✨ • • #mafs #marriedatfirstsight #bestfrans #pregnancyannouncement #finally #pregnant #pleasestick #rainbowbaby #firsttrimester #pregnancyjourney #preggo #yaya #familygoals #ttc #tryingtoconceive #ttccommunity #positivethoughts #instagood #tryingtoconceive #fertilityjourney #fertility #twins #twinsofinstagram #preggers #pregnancyphoto #pregnancyreveal #pregnancy #growingfamily

“In other news, it definitely doesn’t seem like twins so much anymore because there is only one amniotic sac/yolk sac — UNLESS they’re identical!!!!” shared the former reality star, who previously speculated that there may be more than one embryo in her uterus considering her HCG levels were on the higher side.

“My HCG is higher than average for about 5 weeks along so there is still a glimmer of hope!🤣,” she joked. “But either way — we are obvs HAPPY with 1, 2, or 10 babies! Just hoping for HEALTHY!☺

Otis — who also shares 2-year-old daughter Henley Grace, a.k.a. Gracie, with Hehner, 35 — also shared that she has “drastically changed lifestyle” over the past two months, which “seems to be working” in terms of fertility.

“We recorded a full @hotmarriagecoolparents podcast ep on *all* the things I did differently to get to this positive pregnancy test.🤰🏼🙏🏻,” the mom-to-be added, directing her followers to the episode.

Here we GROW again!🤰🏼✨ • I’m *finally* beginning to feel pregnant!👏🏻 The fatigue has hit like a ton of bricks, my boobs hurt, & I’ve had mild cramps & a back ache that was never there with any of my previous pregnancies.🤷🏼‍♀️ One thing that comes with every pregnancy is a weird insomnia?😴 Like, I just can’t sleep through the night?🤔 BUT, I’m not nauseous or throwing up so I cannot & *will not* complain about a thing!🙌🏼 I am genuinely *SO THANKFUL* for all these symptoms bc that means this little poppy seed—or seeds🙏🏻— are growing!👶🏼✨ • I’ve gotten a lot of DM’s, comments, and emails asking what I did differently. I did a few things differently – I was literally trying EVERYTHING.🤞🏼 I am working on a blog post & podcast (& maybe even a YouTube vid if I have enough time) to share about everything in hopes it will help you if you’re #ttc too. We have been trying for 👏🏻EIGHTEEN👏🏻 months and the last two months I just got fed up and changed A LOT of habits and IT WORKED.🙏🏻🤰🏼✨ It’s too much info for one little insta post, but I *promise* to get this done for you by the end of the week!👍🏼🥰 • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU again for the continued prayers, support & encouragement!☺ I genuinely have the best “FRANS”😘 ….September 12th is my next visit with the fertility specialist and I AM READY FOR IT! Can’t wait to find out more info on this babe/babies & of course we will be sharing with you.🙏🏻👶🏼💗✨ • • • #bestfrans #bumppic #4weekspregnant #4weekbumppic #momlife #baby #toddler #preggo #pregnant #mafs #marriedlife #fambam #mylittlefamily #babystory #babystoryapp #ttcjourney #pregnancyjourney👶

Otis announced her pregnancy on Saturday, sharing that she and her husband — who met on season 1 of MAFS for the first time on their wedding day, and recently celebrated their five-year anniversary — are expecting baby No. 2.

The two previously lost their son Johnathan Edward at 17 weeks gestation before welcoming Gracie, while Otis experienced a chemical pregnancy last year and a miscarriage at 10 weeks along this past January.

Throughout her difficult journey, Otis has been incredibly candid about her struggles to expand her family.

“I thought having a family would be very easy, so my own misconception about myself was I would be able to have a family very easily,” she said in May on the Share Your Shine podcast. “Come to find out, it’s not as easy … and come to find out, one in four women will have these same issues.”
