Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian have been met with backlash after his full phone call with pop star Taylor Swift leaked online.
The rapper, 42, and ME! hitmaker Taylor were embroiled in a feud after Kanye and wife Kim Kardashian, 39, claimed that 30-year-old Taylor agreed to be called a “b**ch” in his song Famous , where he sings: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have Se* / Why? I made that b**ch famous God damn.”
Kanye also credited himself with making the singer a household name but after the leak of the entire 25 minute conversation between the stars, it appears Kanye did not tell the whole truth about the chat.
When the track was released Taylor said she was not keen on the disrespectful lyrics, and Kim became involved and leaked a snippet of a phone call and claimed that Taylor was fully aware of the song lyrics.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star went on to label her a “snake”, which led to Swift being trolled online, forcing her to take a break from social media.
However, in the newly released sound footage, Kanye fails to mention that he was going to call Taylor a “b**ch” and claim he made her a star – in line with the You Need to Calm Down star’s post at the time, claiming: “He promised to play the song for me, but he never did. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that b**ch’ in front of the entire world.”
In light of the recording being leaked, Kim and Kanye have received a major backlash online, with fans calling them, “THE MOST DESPICABLE, GROSS AND MANIPULATIVE PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY,” and accusing them of, “bullying a girl into disappearing for a year and even think about ending her career.”
The stars have had a turbulent relationship since Kanye took to the stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) as Taylor accepted the Best Female Video gong for You Belong With Me, telling the stunned crowd that Beyonce should have won instead.
Following the incident, the pair began to “reconnect”, however he pulled a similar stunt when Taylor was asked to present the rapper with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs, declaring in his acceptance speech: “MTV got Taylor Swift up here to present me this award for ratings!”
Taylor has since called Kanye “so two-faced”, and the pair no longer maintain a relationship.
