Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall “used to want a b**b job” because she didn’t believe she was “se*y” enough to appear in the girl group.
In a joint interview with bandmates Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock for Cosmopolitan U.K. magazine, the singer, who rose to fame on The X Factor U.K. in 2011, confessed body confidence issues have plagued her throughout her career.
The 27-year-old said: “I (always) felt like a boy next to everyone (else). I didn’t have a very womanly shape and I’ve got no t*ts.
“I’ve kind of grown into myself a little bit now but I used to want a bo*b job.
I (felt) that I wasn’t se*y enough in the band,” the Wings hitmaker continued. “I still have that complex now when I go on dates. I think, ‘Am I woman enough for someone?’ which is silly.”
And Leigh-Anne added she too struggled with insecurities after finding fame as part of the Black Magic group, telling the publication: “Being in a girl band, the first thing I did was compare myself to the other girls.
“Jade and I wanted nose jobs. I can’t believe I thought like that. I love my nose. I think it’s age as well – you just have to learn to love yourself more,” the 28-year-old added.
The stars’ comments come after Jesy admitted she’ll “never absolutely love myself” after opening up on her past trolling ordeal and sui***e attempt in her award-winning BBC documentary, Odd One Out.
“I will never lie and say I absolutely love myself now. There are still things I’m working on. (But) I am 100 per cent better than I was before,” she smiled.
